I'm upgrading from an older Recon backpack that was finally falling apart after 7-8 years of daily use for commuting to school and work. Always have loved TNF backpacks for its quality and reliability. After a lot of research, I decided to go with an older Recon model as I heard some the odd designs of the newer Recon. The newer Recon's design didn't seem very functional overall. I had bought both to try out and fell in love with the older one.I can see this backpack probably lasting more than 8 years as I typically use the backpack to carry a work laptop, some notepads, and the occasional iPad. Additionally, this bag is just the right size for a 1-2 night weekend trip. Also, the front mesh pocket is incredibly handy and great for simple items for quick access.Overall, I just love this bag and I'm so glad I was able to find an earlier model. Looking forward to what TNF does with this bag a decade from now. Because that's when I'll probably be in the market for a new one.
