Neil is one of my favourite authors of adult work, so I was excited at a chance to introduce my daughter to his children's work. I bought Chu's Day and Chu's First Day of School. She is still a baby, and for the first few months, they were a bit too much for her, but now at 9 months, Chu's First Day of School is one of her two favourite books. She gets very excited when I pull it out, and she will carefully study every page and listen to every word I read with such enthusiasm and interest. She loves the pictures and the flow of the story. She loves to turn the pages by herself. We have a ton of books and this one stands out for her. :) She'll enjoy it for entirely new reasons as she grows older, so we will keep coming back to this one for several years to come! It's an adorable story of nervousness and acceptance and it has beautiful illustrations.
