Description

Two sleepless teenagers find kinship as they escape to their school’s astronomy observatory.Unable to sleep at night, Ganta Nakami is cranky in class and unpopular with his classmates. He discovers that the school observatory, once used by the now-defunct astronomy club, may be the perfect place for a nap—but he's not alone. Fellow insomniac Isaki Magari is willing to share the observatory with Nakami, and a friendship between the two begins as they bond over the most unlikely things. The school forces the insomiacs’ re-formed astronomy club to operate as a proper club. The problem is, neither Nakami—its new president—nor the club’s adviser know a thing about astronomy. Yui Shiromaru, once a prize-winning astrophotographer, now the manager of a small-town video arcade, might just be the person they need.

The story is developing along very well. The characterizations and sumptuous art quality are extraordinary high as well.Isaki Magari is so cute and extraordinary, Ganta Nakami better stay close or I'm going to jump in front of a truck, get isekai'ed to their reality, and steal her from him! LOL just kidding! What's also interesting is, as the story goes along, less is made of the two characters insomnia and this will continue as the series goes on. I love this story so much, I cheated and peaked ahead on the 'Net as this series is already to volume 11 in Japan. Of course, there are good reasons for this, as the two MCs grow closer together, they help each other out of their anguish and find out why they can't sleep. In a way, this relationship reminds me of the main characters in "My Dress-Up Darling" although the characters in this story are less overpowered and, frankly, more relatable. And as usual, there are pages where there is nothing but artwork, no dialog, which behooves you to read it very slowly and take in the art. Often the characters will be in these unspoken segments doing something or expressing how they feel. Its very visual and lovely. All in all, I am totally stuck on this series and I can't wait until there is more. BTW, there is an anime for this on Crunchyroll (as of 7/1/2023). It is not Dubbed, English Subs only, but its worth a look as it is very faithful to the manga and goes far beyond these two volumes. All I will say is that unlike Marin in "My Dress-Up Darling", cutie Isaki isn't going to wait around hoping her guy notices her, she's going to take steps! Well, maybe that's too forceful of a way to put it but its so cute. :)
